Modena and Julia A. Stone Modena was born on December 10, 1944, in Wrigley, Tennessee. She attended the Hickman County Public School system; graduating from O.H Bernard High School in 1962. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Saint James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Charlie Jackson where she was a dedicated member. Under Pastor John Whitmore, Saint James Missionary Baptist Church became Beth-el Missionary Baptist Church. At Beth-el Missionary Baptist Church, she served faithfully as Mother of the Church under Dr. Jimmy Overton. She was a fun-loving character who, always had a good word to say about everybody. She always had time to listen, pray, and sing with people; you always felt loved after seeing Mother Geraldine. She was paramount in getting the Parnell Eugene Clemons Park setup in the Wrigley Community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Geraldine-Hornbeak\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mother Geraldine was formerly employed by Hickman County School System, Genesco, G&amp;H and Levi\u2019s. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as a flower. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the age of 76 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Willie Lee Modena, James William Modena, Donald Modena and twin-brother Gerald Modena, sister, Brenda Kay Easley, and nephew Patrick D, Modena.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Geraldine-Hornbeak\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mother Geraldine is survived by her sister Patricia Collins, brothers Leonard (Anna) Modena and Huey Lee (Marion) Modena, sister-n-law Bernice Modena, stepson Lee Warren Hornbeak, nieces, Dawn Collins, Shantae Modena, and Sabrina Modena, nephews, Shawn Modena, Allan (Terriece) Easley, Quentin (Levina) Modena, and Jonathan (Ann) Modena. A host of devoted great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
