He grew up on Brush Creek in Perry County. Eventually, he moved to Hohenwald and was active in the community, both here and in Linden, in every way possible. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Lions Club of Perry County, the Jaycees, and many other organizations during his lifetime. He had several different careers, but most recently he was the collection manager for the Bank of Perry County. In his off time, you\u2019d see Joe in 1955 or his 1956 Chevrolet Belair. Joe knew everyone in town, and everyone knew him and loved him. He was the true definition of a good friend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Joseph-Joe-Bell\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He leaves behind his daughter, Melissa (Stephanie) Bell of Hohenwald, his step-daughter, Denice Woodie of Hohenwald, his step-son, Greg Goodwin of West Palm Beach, FL, his brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Bell of Linden, his grandchildren, Christopher (Macy) Lomax, Corey (Christy) Carroll, Constance (Chad) Clayton, Alexis Beibers, Tylan Woodie, 5 Great Grandchildren, and also tons of nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Joseph-Joe-Bell\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his father and mother, he is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Becky Carroll, and his sisters, Minnie Lee Marlin, Nita Hensley, Joy Savage, and Wanda Tucker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Joseph-Joe-Bell\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 5:00 &#8211; 9:00PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM, in the McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Lewis County with Hoyt Kirk officiating.
