A native of the Maury County community of Cathey&#8217;s Creek, he was the son of late Hanes Thompson and Rebecca Savage Shannon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Roy-Shannon\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife, Clara Armstrong Shannon, daughter, Rebecca (Charles) Dorris, and son, David (Tracie) Shannon. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Colton (Rachel) Shannon, Lacie (Clint) Haynes, Rong Wang, Emilie (Josh) Terry, Zara Dorris, Zena Dorris, Zola Dorris, and five great-grandchildren, Max Shannon, Meryl Shannon, Murphy Shannon, Oliver Haynes, and Trai Evans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Roy-Shannon\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Shannon was also preceded in death by his brother, Dan Shannon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Roy-Shannon\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation will be\u00a0 5 June 2021 from at Centerville Church of Christ, Centerville, TN from 12:30 PM &#8211; 2:00 PM,\u00a0 A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Roy-Shannon\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The service will be live-streamed and archived at\u00a0<a title=\"Click to open in a new window or tab\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centervillechurchofchrist.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">www.centervillechurchofchrist.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\" data-server-action=\"\/obituaries\/Roy-Shannon\/ProcessUpdateTributeObituary\" data-editclass=\"edit-obituary\" data-fieldtype=\"textarea\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Memorial gifts may be made to The Roy &amp; Clara Shannon Scholarship Fund at Freed-Hardeman University by mail to FHU Office of Development, 158 E.
