Bruce Edward Coates was born on September 21, 1953, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, and passed away on May 1, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 67 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is the son of the late Willis Walter Coates and Dorothy Lorene Albright Coates. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Bailey.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Catherine Coates of Centerville, Tennessee. Daughter Vanessa Coates of Franklin, Tennessee. Sons Brad Coates (Traci) of Centerville, Tennessee, and Vincent Coates (Jennifer) of Nunnelly, Tennessee. Step-Sons Ronald Madden of Nashville, Tennessee, and Roger Madden of Hohenwald, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Hurlin, Tyler, Karlisha, Dakota, Destiny, Robert, Austin, Brice, and Madison. Brothers Gary Coates of McEwen, Tennessee, Griffin Coates of Tuscan, Arizona, and Roger Coates of Centerville, Tennessee. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruce served for 39 years at Turney Center in Hickman County and also worked for over 20 years at the Bon Aqua\/Lyles Utility District water plant. He was well-loved by everyone at both places and he loved working at each.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was a member of the Maple Valley Baptist Church and was baptized by his son on April 4th of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and Tennessee Vols fan. When the kids were younger he helped coach many of their soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball teams. He was always there for his kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

He will be remembered as a fine man, loving father, and husband.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Visitation will be 3 May 2021 frim 2:00 pm – 8:00 PM and 4 May 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.\u00a0 The funeral will be 4 May 2021 at 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.\u00a0 Burial will follow in Baker-Heatherley Cemetery.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
