He was born in Nashville on December 3,1943 to the late Ira Altz and Dollie Hickerson Riley. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Sonia Denise Riley; a son Eric Lee Riley; brother Denby Riley; sister Minnie Lee Cotham; and his first wife Mrs. Ernestine Holt Riley.\u00a0 Ira was a devoted Christian and looked forward to Sunday Service at Flat Rock Church of Christ in Hohenwald.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">After graduating high school, Mr. Riley enlisted in the United States Navy to serve and protect his country. On July 30,2016 he married Ms. Florine and they spent their days together soaking in every moment and making lasting memories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ira enjoyed spending time with family watching ball games and traveling. He had an immeasurable love for collecting and working on old cars in his free time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his wife Florine, Mr. Riley is survived by\u00a0 his children Chad (Shannon) Riley, Tammy Hankins (Travis McKissack), and Greg (Mel) Hankins; a brother David (Linda) Riley; ten grandchildren Blake (Monica) Riley, Austin (Ryleigh) Riley, Trent Riley, Kaylan Weatherly, Jace Riley, Bryan Young, Meagan (Josh) Arledge, India Hankins, Garrett (Jennifer) Carroll, and Zac (Alex) Carroll; and six great grandchildren Gia Mason, James Lawson Kelly, Greyson Riley, Hunter Arledge, Caleb Carroll, and Taylor Arledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday April 8th at Flat Rock Church of Christ from 5:00-8:00 pm.\u00a0 Visitation will continue Friday April 9th at Plunk Funeral Home in Camden, TN from 11:00-2:00pm with a funeral service immediately following. Brother Elliot Hamm will officiate. Pall bearers will be Shawn McDowell, Eddie Holt, Ed Cannon, Frank Belisle, Josh Arledge, and John Phillips. Tom McCormick will serve as honorary Pall Bearer. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For those in attendance the family requests that facial coverings be worn and to maintain the social distancing guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* Wash your hands often;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* Avoid touching your face; and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Thank you for your thoughtfulness and consideration.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the early morning hours of April 6, 2021 Mr. Ira Altz Riley Jr. went home to his heavenly father at the age of 77.
