He grew up in Farmers Exchange and eventually moved to Hohenwald. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Jane Nutt, in 1969 at Lomax Crossroads Church. They lived their lives and raised their family together in the Riverside community of Hohenwald. He worked at Universal Fasteners in Centerville for over thirty years. After his tenure there, he worked for several years for the City of Hohenwald until his retirement. He lived life to the fullest, never failing to have a good time. He and his son, Burt, enjoyed showing their 1952 Chevrolet at various car shows during his free time. However, anyone that knew Tommy knew that he could always be found riding along with Sheriff Dwayne Kilpatrick during the day. Above all, he was a Christian and a dedicated member of the Riverside Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his wife, Jane (Nutt) Barber, he is survived by his sons, Jeff (Melissa) Barber of Pleasantview, TN, and Burt (Sara) Barber of Hohenwald, TN, his grandchildren, Janna (Hayden) Harper, Bryson Barber, Shaylan Barber, and Lacey Barber, and his siblings, Larry Barber, JoAnn Hailey, and Dorothy Barnhill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Bill Barber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, March 7, from 12:00PM-1:45PM in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
