{"id":7740,"date":"2020-11-09T15:27:23","date_gmt":"2020-11-09T20:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=7740"},"modified":"2020-11-09T15:27:23","modified_gmt":"2020-11-09T20:27:23","slug":"downey-jeffrey-wayne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/downey-jeffrey-wayne\/","title":{"rendered":"Downey, Jeffrey Wayne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Jeffery Wayne Downey 51 of Lafayette passed away November 7, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.\u00a0 Mr. Downey was born in Nashville to Carlos and Carolyn (Nutt) Downey on February 9, 1969.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by his grandparents Burton and Zula Downey and Ivan and Georgia Nutt. \u00a0Jeffery owned and operated his own trucking business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He loved his family more than anything. He was described as a loving husband and father; a wonderful son; and a very protective brother. Jeffery loved spending time with his grandchildren taking them for rides on the four wheelers. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching a baseball game, riding his horses, and just being outside shooting his guns. Though his life was taken far too soon, the memories made will never fade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Along with his parents Mr. Downey is survived by his wife Felicia Joy Batson Downey; children Chaz (Haley) Downey, Halston (Alex) Downey, Brooklyn Downey, Justin (Wendy) Pinson, and Kelly Gregory; sister Carla Downey Wallace; grandchildren Layton Downey, Hudson Downey, Alexander Pinson, Jaxson Pinson, and Abigail Pinson; a niece Saleen Wallace; and nephews Daytona Wallace and McLaren Wallace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A graveside service will be held Wednesday November 11, 2020 at Downey Cemetery beginning at 12:00 pm.\u00a0 Brother Tim Smith will be officiating.\u00a0 The family will receive friends at the home of Carlos and Carolyn Downey on Saturday November 14, 2020 beginning at 12:00 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jeffery Wayne Downey 51 of Lafayette passed away November 7, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.\u00a0 Mr. Downey was born in Nashville to Carlos and Carolyn (Nutt) Downey on February 9, 1969.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by his grandparents Burton and Zula Downey and Ivan and Georgia Nutt. \u00a0Jeffery owned and operated his own trucking business.
