{"id":7719,"date":"2020-11-08T12:09:02","date_gmt":"2020-11-08T17:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=7719"},"modified":"2020-11-10T12:31:04","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T17:31:04","slug":"nicholson-ramona-dale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/nicholson-ramona-dale\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicholson, Ramona Dale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ramona Dale (Defoe) Nicholson, age 92, of Hohenwald,<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0was born September 18, 1928 in Hohenwald, TN, the daughter of Herbie and Clarice Defoe, passed away on November 5, 2020.\u00a0 Ramona had one brother, Jones Craig Defoe, deceased. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ramona married Guy J. Nicholson in 1946, they were married 71 years, and had 2 children, Don and Amy. Ramona and Guy moved to Sparta, Cookeville, and Kingsport, TN as Guy\u2019s career progressed. It was in Sparta that Ramona owned and operated a beauty school and where they met their lifelong friends Drake (deceased) and Margaret Anderton. At the end of Guy\u2019s career he was transferred back to their home area of Tennessee where Ramona was so happy to spend the last 40 years of her life surrounded by family and friends. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ramona worked in the Lewis County School System as a teacher\u2019s aid. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed crocheting, painting, and antiques. She loved spending time with family and friends, and she never met a stranger with whom she didn\u2019t strike up a conversation.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is survived by Son, Donald (Patricia) Nicholson of White House, TN, Daughter, Amy Nicholson of Hohenwald, 3 Grandchildren, Kyle Runions, Matthew Nicholson &amp; Emily Nicholson and 4 Great Grandchildren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A private family service is scheduled for November 15.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Food for Friends Ministry in care of the Lomax Church of Christ, address 320 Darbytown Rd, Hohenwald, TN 38462.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ramona Dale (Defoe) Nicholson, age 92, of Hohenwald,\u00a0was born September 18, 1928 in Hohenwald, TN, the daughter of Herbie and Clarice Defoe, passed away on November 5, 2020.\u00a0 Ramona had one brother, Jones Craig Defoe, deceased.
