Burial took place in the Memory Gardens in Centerville.\u00a0 Born October 5, 1934 in Wayne County, she was a daughter of the late Bill Poag and Agnes Nutt Poag.\u00a0 Mrs. Blocker was bookkeeper for Lewis County Manor from 1975 until becoming administrator in 1978 until 1991. \u201cShe was a dedicated and loyal employee,\u201d stated Mark Davis, Chief Operations Officer for Tennessee Health Management.\u00a0 She is survived by her husband, James Wiley Blocker; daughter, Celeste Blocker of Hohenwald; sister, Marie Logan of Nashville; granddaughter, Aleczandria Blocker Duncan of Hohenwald; great granddaughter, Trezian Magenta Jagger Blocker Duncan, also of Hohenwald.\u00a0 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Alec Blocker.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pine-view Church of Christ Benevolence Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thelma Blocker,\u00a0 age 75, died January 2, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.\u00a0 Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. January 5, 2010 at McDonald Funeral Home with Bobby Carroll, minister of Pineview Church of Christ, officiating.
