Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. December 23, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church with Jerry McDonald officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A homemaker, Mrs. Russell was born September 17, 1946 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late George Bennett Sr. and Hazel Mae Cummings Bennett. Survivors include her husband, Ellis Dean Russell of Hohenwald; two sons, Samuel Marsh, Jr. of San Diego, California and William Evan Marsh of Brownsburg, Indiana; one daughter, Nancy Beckelheimer of Hohenwald; four step-sons, Tracy and Danny Russell, both of Springfield, Missouri, Randall Russell of Farmington, Missouri, and Josh Donofrio of Knoxville; two step-daughters, Teresa Brennamon of Springfield, Missouri and Summer Donofrio of Knoxville; one brother, George Bennett, Jr. of Cherryville, North Carolina; one sister, Nancy Bennett, also of Cherryville; twenty-one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
