She was 90. The funeral was held Monday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Greg McFadden, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Swiss Cemetery. Mrs. Humphreys was the daughter of the late Samuel H and Lena Mai Hull Hinson, born June 16, 1912 in Hohenwald. She was a former Cafeteria Manager in the Lewis County School System. She is survived by two sons, D.D. Humphreys, III of Destin, Florida, and James Boyd Humphreys of Hohenwald; a brother, Charles Cuthbert Hinson of Columbia; a sister, Joann Hyatt of Hohenwald; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Humphreys was preceded in death by her husband, Judge David Douglas Humphreys, Jr; a daughter, Eleanor Andolyn Humphreys, three brothers, Jesse Waddell Hinson, Samuel Hinson, Jr, and Bernard Hinson; two sisters, Aline Treadwell and Charlotte Epperson.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elise Humphreys, 641 Swan Avenue, died Friday, August 30, 2002 at Lewis County Manor.
