She was born on August 31,1945 in Connecticut to the late Joseph and Polly Smith.\u00a0 Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Black.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0Mrs. McCormick worked 35 years for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) as a computer specialist. This allowed her travel all over the world to such places as Japan and Singapore and numerous other places. She married her husband, Roy McCormick in 1988 and they were married 32 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and cross-stitching. For quieter moments she loved to sit down and enjoy a good book.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Karen is survived by her husband, Mr. Roy McCormick; her daughter, Cyndi Black and husband, Bruce Teed; grandson, Kyle Teed; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Teed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. McCormick\u2019s wishes were to be cremated so there are currently no services planned. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the afternoon of June 8, 2020, Mrs. Karen Ann McCormick unexpectedly passed away in her Hohenwald home.
