He was born June 5,1943 to the late Eugene and Lucy (Temple) Duke in Nashville, TN. Along with his parents Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his daughter Ms. Diane Duke.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">During most of his life Mr. Duke drove a dump truck for various companies before becoming an independent operator. \u00a0During his downtime he enjoyed being outside fishing or just taking in the great outdoors. On Sundays he could be found cheering on the Tennessee Titans football team. When the Titans weren\u2019t playing, he would tune into the Nat. Geo Wild channel for all the latest episodes of Dr. Pol Veterinarian often asking his family to watch with him. He has been described as the best dad and one of the greatest men anyone has ever known. He was truly a gentle, caring and selfless man that would give everything he had to make sure his family was taken care of.\u00a0 He will be missed by many.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Douglas leaves behind a son Douglas Edward (Melissa) Duke Jr.; two daughters Lucy \u201cSissy\u201d Duke and her husband Kenneth Spain; and Jwanna Diane Duke; 40 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Family visitation will be held next week.
