{"id":5409,"date":"2020-09-05T18:40:21","date_gmt":"2020-09-05T22:40:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=5409"},"modified":"2020-09-05T18:40:21","modified_gmt":"2020-09-05T22:40:21","slug":"ward-carole-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/ward-carole-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Ward, Carole May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>Carole May Ward<\/strong><\/em>, 69, of Hohenwald passed away November 10, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.\u00a0 She was born April 14, 1950 in Hohenwald to the late Alfred Byron and Stella Maude Alice Carroll Pennington.\u00a0 On April 17, 1971 she married Mr. Van Ward in Florence, AL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Dedicating her life to making a home for her family, Mrs. Ward was known to be an exceptional and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her kindness, generosity and selflessness did not go unnoticed by those she met and cared for. As a devoted\u00a0Christian woman, Carole spent her years serving our Lord through her membership in the Little Swan Church of Christ. In collaboration with her parish, she would arrange and deliver gift baskets and care packages to members of the community in need. Her faith was said to be unwavering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In her free time, Carole cultivated a pension for singing, acting and charity. She traveled with the Sweet Adeline\u2019s Women\u2019s Chorus, participated in variety shows during the 1980s\/90s, raised money for the American Cancer Society, won the title of Mrs. Tennessee in 1978 and even entered the Mrs. America Pageant!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with her husband, Mrs. Ward is survived by her sons Phillip Adam Ward, Lesley Evan(Jane) Ward , Jonathan Brett (Tonya) Ward; grandchildren Jackson, Grant, Chase, Kylie and Samuel Ward; sister Georgia (Terry)Messina; brother Roger (Connie) Pennington; and several nieces, nephews,\u00a0 and special friends.\u00a0 Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Lois Crofton.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be held Thursday November 14,2019 from 5:00-9:00pm in the chapel of Adair Funeral &amp; Cremation Services.
