On October 20, 2019, while resting comfortably in the presence of close family and friends, Mr. Jimmy C. Turnbow<\/strong><\/em>, 83, of Hohenwald was called home by our Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n

Born on March 30, 1936 in Perry County, Mr. Turnbow was the son of the late James and Clyde Graves Turnbow. He was known for being a hard and dedicated worker, having owned and operated Harpeth True Value in Franklin, TN for 28 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On July 12, 1953 he married his soul mate – Ruth Helen Turnbow. During their lives together they were blessed with many years of travel. They loved to load up the R.V. and take off across the country – often frequenting places such as Arizona, Texas, and Florida. In his spare time, he could be found hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. He was also known to enjoy the plot of a classic western film, entertaining family and friends and spending hours reading up on the history of war cemeteries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His house was often filled with children ready to enjoy rides on his scooter and\/or tractor.\u00a0 He was said to have never met a stranger. His love for all he knew radiated through his infectious smile and big heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with his wife, Mr. Turnbow is survived by his daughters Crystal (Donnie) Wood, and<\/span>
\nChandra (Tommy) Powell; a son of their heart Michael (Angela) Leigh; grandchildren Chad and Chase Wood, \u00a0Crysta\u00a0(Jamar) Hardiman, Taylor Powell, Calia (Matt) Lane, and John-Daniel\u00a0Powell; a nephew David Roth; nieces Sharon (Phil) Roth, Kathy (Jim) Porter, and Karen (Jeff) Furman; and 5 great-grandchildren.\u00a0 Mr. Turnbow also leaves behind close friends David (Jodi) Ashmore, Butch (Evelyn) Brewer, Bill (Nancyetta) Webb, and Kenny (Cindy) Graves.<\/span><\/p>\n

A visitation will take place at The Sanctuary Pentecostal Church located at 95 Swan Ave in Hohenwald on Friday October 25 from 5-9pm.\u00a0 Funeral services will be held at the Sanctuary on Saturday October 26 at 11:00am with brother Bill Webb officiating.\u00a0 Burial will follow at Graves Cemetery in Linden, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n
