He was born October 30,1951 in Linden to the late Herschel and Ruby (Byrd) Hufstedler.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">After graduating from Perry County High School, Bill began his own backhoe and dozer service named Bills Backhoe Services.\u00a0 On August 9,1970 he married his best friend Mrs. Linda Gail Simmons in Linden, TN. They were just weeks shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Hufstedler was an Elder of Little Lot Church of Christ before becoming a member of Linden Church of Christ as well as Brushy Church of Christ. \u00a0He has been known to quote the scripture front to back and enjoyed teaching others the word of the gospel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bill has been described as a very non-judgmental man and many times became a father figure for those that did not have one. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing the Tennessee River especially with his brothers. His daughter, Gena, had this to say: \u201cGod could not have placed me with a better father. I know he would not want us to be sad. Many times, before he would say \u201cWhen I die, Gena don\u2019t mourn me, but be happy for me, sing and celebrate my death.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter Gena Gail Hufstedler Aldridge; and his son John Clovis Hufstedler.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">His memorial service will be full of only happy stories and a grill out afterwards. After the gathering the family will be placing his urn on a wooden boat and setting it adrift into the sunset, with love in their hearts.
