He was the son of the late Elbert Deen and Lillie Martin Deen. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cooper Deen of Lyles. Sons, Earl (Marietta) Deen of Bellevue, Greg (Jill) Deen of Primm Springs, and Pat (Laura) Deen of Columbia. Daughter, Lynette (Jim) Carlucci of Dickson, Tennessee. Grandchildren, Adam (Tavia) Carlucci, Diana (Dustin) Bailey, Rebecca (Alex) Wilkins, and Matthew Deen. Six great-grandchildren. Brothers,\u00a0 Martin Deen of Columbia, James Deen of Columbia, and Granville Deen of Clarksville along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Deen worked as a carpenter. He built several houses and did many remodeling jobs over the years. He also was a minister. He spent over 50 years sharing the gospel with others. During that time he would attend, and often times, host singings at his home.\u00a0 At home, he kept a large garden and grew many different types of flowers and vegetables.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all those that provided care, especially the staff of Home Instead and Life Care Center of Columbia.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation will be on 9 Sep 2019 from 4:00 PM and 10 Sep 2019 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home-Hickman Co.\u00a0\u00a0 The funeral service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, on 10 Sep 2019 at 1:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Pallbearers will include grandchildren and nephews.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leonard Brown Deen was born on April 14, 1926, in the Shady Grove Community of Hickman County, and passed away on September 6, 2019, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 93.
