{"id":4180,"date":"2020-08-30T16:30:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-30T20:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=4180"},"modified":"2020-08-30T16:30:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-30T20:30:58","slug":"graham-betty-orton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/graham-betty-orton\/","title":{"rendered":"Graham, Betty Orton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>Betty Orton Graham<\/strong><\/em> was born August 21, 1934, in Hickman County and died December 13, 2019, at the age of 85.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Audie and Mollie Fuller Orton, sisters, Ann Orton and Elsie Hoover, and brother, Robert Orton.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is survived by her husband Reece Graham and sons Bennett (Wendy) Graham and Bob Graham, granddaughter Sara Graham, great-granddaughter Anna Grace, sisters Delphia Orton and Wilma Mathis, and brother John Orton.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Betty worked for Home Beneficial Insurance Company for 10 years and then assisted Reece in the office of their home-based independent insurance agency.\u00a0 Memories of helping her mother piece quilts as a child sparked her interest in needlework. She especially enjoyed needlepoint and was a member of The Nashville Chapter Embroiderers&#8217; Guild.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Betty met Reece at Home Beneficial where they both worked. They married November 26, 1955, and shared a very special love and bond for 64 years. She was a member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Heights Church of Christ, 6833 Old Charlotte Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. The service will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed with burial at Harpeth Hills Cemetery, Nashville, TN.\u00a0 Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
