{"id":3294,"date":"2020-05-29T15:41:22","date_gmt":"2020-05-29T19:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=3294"},"modified":"2020-08-30T10:25:54","modified_gmt":"2020-08-30T14:25:54","slug":"mcdonald-funeral-home-obituary-ronnie-james","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/mcdonald-funeral-home-obituary-ronnie-james\/","title":{"rendered":"James, Ronnie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>Ronnie James<\/strong><\/em>, 73, of Hohenwald, passed from this life into glory on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Maury Regional Medical Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was born on August 15, 1946, on Slippery Creek in Lewis County, to Dewey R. James and Bettye Sisco James. On April 19, 1968, he married the love of his life, Bertha Laxton. They resided in Hohenwald.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ronnie was one of the most active citizens that has ever lived. He was a Lewis County Commissioner for over 30 years. Once that concluded, he became a member of the Lewis County Election Commission from 2003-2017. Along with those, he was also a member of the Housing Authority Board, the State Forestry Committee, the Railroad Authority, and several other boards and organizations. He was a member of the United States Army and served as a combat engineer. Once he got out of the service, he was a proud and dedicated member of the VFW. He never missed paying his respects at a Lewis County Veteran\u2019s funeral. He was a dedicated member of the Slippery Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Randy (Kerri) James, of Hohenwald, a daughter Diana \u201cTilda\u201d James, of Franklin, TN, a sister, Sandra James, of Nashville, TN, three grandchildren: Kynzi, Nathan, and Peyton James, and a special friend, Emily Skelton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mike James.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 10:00 AM, in the Edwards Cemetery, Slippery Creek, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">If you wish to make a donation in memory of Ronnie, please do so to St. Jude Children&#8217;s Research Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ronnie James, 73, of Hohenwald, passed from this life into glory on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Maury Regional Medical Center.
