He was born on November 11, 1932 to the late John Churchwell &amp; Florence (LaRue) Churchwell.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He graduated from Lewis County High School in 1952. After graduation he moved up north to Ohio and worked for several years. He then returned to Hohenwald and opened Joe&#8217;s One Stop, serving the surrounding counties but becoming a staple of Lewis County. All these years later Joe&#8217;s remains open and serving his neighbors. Joe was known to have some of the prettiest flowers and plants in Middle, TN. His knowledge and expertise helped many families grow bountiful gardens and flowers.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Joe also served as a Lewis County Commissioner for many years. And if you wanted to hear the latest scoop of happenings in Hohenwald, Joe&#8217;s One Stop was the place to be. Many evenings his parking lot would be full of friends, sitting around and shooting the breeze or talking politics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Joe leaves behind a grandson Evan Matthew Webb and several nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is preceded in death by his parents, John &amp; Florence Churchwell, Wife, Patsy Joyce Churchwell, Son, Joseph &#8220;Sam&#8221; Churchwell Jr. and four brothers, Edward, Vestil, Richard &amp; Ray Churchwell and three Sisters, Evla Grinder, Marie Miller &amp; Edith Petty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 at 11:00 AM in the Loveless Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joseph &#8220;Joe&#8221; Samuel Churchwell Sr. of Hohenwald, TN passed away on May 4, 2020 at his residence.
