{"id":14613,"date":"2026-05-11T15:02:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T19:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=14613"},"modified":"2026-05-11T15:02:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T19:02:37","slug":"dixon-melba-modine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/dixon-melba-modine\/","title":{"rendered":"Dixon, Melba Modine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Melba Modine Quillen Dixon was born in Hohenwald, to her parents the late Mr. Sydney Arthur Quillen and Mrs. Minnie Lee Turnbow Quillen.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"image-container w75 storyimage_centeralign\">\n<div class=\"imageDiv\">\n<p class=\"caption\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Dixon spent her childhood in the Lewis County and in her young adult years married her husband Mr. Thomas Dixon Sr. in 1973. The two would forever intertwine their hearts, lives and families; setting their familial roots and raising their children in the Waynesboro area. During her occupational years, she worked in several different positions for several companies, but mostly for her employment at the Murray Ohio Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg for approximately 28 years. Being a lover of the outdoors, in her leisure time she enjoyed riding tractors, checking on the cows, riding 4 wheelers and caring for their pigs when the Dixon and Sons Hog Farm was in full operation. She was of the Christian faith and possessed a deep love for her family and friends. Mrs. Melba Modine Quillen Dixon passed from this life at her home in Waynesboro on April 12, 2026, making her stay on this earth some 80 years, 9 months and 18 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those left to honor her memory include her husband of over 52 years Mr. William Thomas Dixon Sr.; daughter Lori Robertson husband Marty of Camden, sons Thomas Dixon Jr. wife Tina all of Waynesboro, and Robert Allen (Bobby) Dixon of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren Cassondra Blackwell husband John, Dylan Staggs, Kayla Laws, David Sanderson; great grandchildren Carter, Jadyn, Sarah, Kaleigh, Ashton, Braxton, Chris, Paisley, Brandon, Aubrey and Brantley<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Jammie Darnell Burlison, granddaughter Ashley Sanderson, all 13 siblings<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Funeral Services were held Wednesday April 15, 2026 with John Blackwell officiating; burial burial followed in the Gallaher Cemetery. Visitation with the Dixon family was held Wednesday April 15, 2026, all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel in Waynesboro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Dylan Staggs, Jason McWilliams, Ashton Sanderson, Braxton Laws, Chris Staggs and Brandon Staggs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC is honored to serve the Dixon family.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mrs. Melba Modine Quillen Dixon was born in Hohenwald, to her parents the late Mr. Sydney Arthur Quillen and Mrs. Minnie Lee Turnbow Quillen.
