She passed peacefully from this life on February 14, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Hubert Moss; her brother, Robert Hethcoat; and her sister, Hazel Love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is survived by her loving children, Deborah (B.Y.) Peery and Jeff (Becky) Moss; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hester spent all but two years of her life in Hickman County, the community she proudly called home. She married Hubert on October 6, 1944, beginning a lifelong partnership built on devotion, hard work, and love. Together they built a life centered around family and faithfulness. She was a long-time member of Fairfield Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She began her working career at Southern Sportswear factory. After it closed, she went to work at Gensco, where she dedicated 27 years as a talented seamstress, known for her detailed and beautiful &#8220;fancy&#8221; stitching on boots and wingtip shoes. When the local Gensco plant closed, Hester continued working at the Levi plant until its closing as well. Her strong work ethic and steady hands were a testament to her determination and pride in doing a job well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Hester loved family gatherings, especially game nights around the table. She enjoyed playing Rook and later took a special liking to a newer favorite, RACKO \u2014 which, thanks to her playful spirit, affectionately became known in the family as \u201cRaccoon.\u201d Laughter, competition, and togetherness filled those evenings, and they remain treasured memories for all who shared them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Above all, Hester loved her family deeply. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching them grow and surrounding them with her gentle, steady love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a hardworking provider, a loving mother and grandmother, and a truly sweet soul whose kindness and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished so dearly.\u00a0 Visitation with the family will be 18 Feb 2026 from 4:00 &#8211; 8:00 PM and 19 Feb 2026 from 11:00 AM &#8211; 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Charles L Nickell Memorial Park Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hester Moss was born near Council Bend on April 29, 1927, to Oliver and Lucille Lester Hethcoat.
