Born May 17, 1941 in Centerville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of James Malcom and Fannie Lee Martin-Bates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Married for 65 years to Charles Ray Hudgins, she is survived by brothers Joe and Glen Bates, husband Ray Hudgins and daughter Pamela Lawrence, 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, all of who she considered her own. She is predeceased by brothers Kenneth Owen and Robert Wilson Bates and son Kenneth Ray Hudgins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Daisy was a devoted mother and caregiver to many in her life. She enjoyed sewing, travel, needlework, painting, and adding to various collections of antiques and other collectibles. Daisy worked in several factories in the area as well as served as cashier in a number of local businesses during her working career. Obtaining her commercial drivers license in 1998, Daisy enjoyed traveling and driving with Ray as a long haul driver.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 6 Feb 4:00 &#8211; 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held 7 Feb 2026 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County with burial to follow at Wade-Peeler Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Legion Post #36, PO Box 8, Centerville, TN 37033-0008.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daisy Bell Bates-Hudgins passed peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Dickson, Tennessee.
