She passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 91.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Malcolm Reeves; her brothers, Prince and Charles McFarlin; and her sister, Fay Burton.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Reeves is survived by her nieces, Debbie (Ronnie) Braton, Tami (Bob) Greene, Kristy (Keith) Chudley; her nephews, Shane (Marcy) McFarlin, Shaun (Nathan) McFarlin, Joel (Tabby) Breece, Jeff (Debbie) Breece, and Chuck (Susan) McFarlin; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Kathryn McFarlin, and Michelle (Brenda) Goodpasture whom she referred to as the daughter she never had.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Following her graduation from high school, Mrs. Reeves began her lifelong career at Security Bank and Trust Company in Centerville\u2014her only employer. She dedicated more than 50 years to banking, holding every position within the institution. She successfully guided the bank through numerous mergers and retired as President of the Centerville office of First Farmers Bank.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Through the Chairman\u2019s Club at First Farmers Bank, Mrs. Reeves organized countless trips, ensuring that each participant felt special and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Her attention to detail and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who traveled with her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Reeves deeply loved Hickman County and its people and made a profound impact on her community. She served on numerous boards and was instrumental in organizing and serving on the boards of the East Hickman Community Center and Buford McCord Memorial Park. She was a longtime and devoted member of the Hickman County Civitan Club and the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ and in her later years, a member of Clearview Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A faithful and loyal friend, Mrs. Reeves loved fiercely and without reservation. She was known for her warmth, her generosity, and her culinary talents\u2014especially her famous rum cake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Olive Branch Assisted Living and to Freda Ezell for the compassionate and loving care shown to Mrs. Reeves.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 19 Jan 2026 from 10:00AM &#8211; 12:ooPM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Mrs. Reeves be made to St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wilma Jean Reeves was born on August 17, 1934, in Lyles, Tennessee, to the late Ellis and Katie England McFarlin.
