{"id":14182,"date":"2025-10-16T19:11:37","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T23:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=14182"},"modified":"2025-10-16T19:11:37","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T23:11:37","slug":"cochran-floy-hudgins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/cochran-floy-hudgins\/","title":{"rendered":"Cochran, Floy Hudgins"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary\">\n<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary__text\">\n<div class=\"obituary edit-container\">\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Floy Hudgins Cochran, a cherished member of the Fairfield community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Centerville, Tennessee, at the age of 91.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Born on March 22, 1934, in Centerville to the late Ollie Jones Hudgins and Annie Lou Russell Hudgins, Floy lived a life defined by faith, family, and service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was united in marriage to Willie Carl Cochran, and together they shared 50 wonderful years before his passing in 2003. Their loving union brought forth three children: Sheila Brady, Chiquita (Gary) Wright, and Darin (Lori) Cochran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Floy was the proud grandmother of Jana (Vance) Willis, Brynne (Alan) James, Misty (Jonathan) Aydelott, Christopher (Arielle) Wright, Patrick (Melody) Brady, Alison (Tommy) Stanley, Quincy Cochran, and Carlin (Dalton) Thomasson. Her growing legacy includes 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is also survived by her loving siblings: Georgia Garner, Dot Dickens, Hilda Atkinson, Barbara Beard, and Ray Hudgins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Bertha Mae Hudgins, Geneva Bozza, Dale Moss, Stanley Hudgins, Andrew Hudgins, Wayne Hudgins, Russell Hudgins, Luther \u201cRed\u201d Hudgins, Johnny Hudgins, and Paul Hudgins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A devoted member of Fairfield Church of Christ for over 75 years, Mrs. Cochran was affectionately known as \u201cMom\u201d to all who walked through its doors. Her unwavering faith and warm heart left an indelible impact on generations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Floy also dedicated many years as the secretary in the Vocational Department of Hickman County High School, where she mentored and supported countless students with kindness and care.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In honor of her lifelong love for education and service, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Carl and Floy Cochran Scholarship Fund, in care of Fairfield Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 27 Sep 2025 from 4:00 &#8211; 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County and 28 Sep 2025 from 1:00 &#8211; 2:00 PM at Fairfield Church of Christ, Centerville, TN.\u00a0 Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm with burial at Charles L Nickell Memorial Park, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Floy Hudgins Cochran, a cherished member of the Fairfield community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Centerville, Tennessee, at the age of 91.
