He was born on February 19, 1939, in Only, Tennessee, to the late Burford Tate and Jessie Brake Tate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Alvin is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Russ) Hawkins, and his son, Luther (Carla) Tate; a special daughter, Laura (Randy) Newton; and his sister, Joyce Cayce. He was a devoted grandfather to Dustin (Jennifer) Hawkins, Melanie (Michael) Kelly, Marlena Hawkins, Brandon Tate, Matthew Tate, and Jana Tate. He was also a beloved great-grandfather to Kenadie Hawkins, Natalie Hawkins, and Hazel Tate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Yvonne Tibbs Tate; his grandson, Thaniel Tate; great-grandson, Hudson Tate; sister, Betty Tate; and brother, Robert Ray Tate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Alvin worked for 35 years as a line supervisor with Ormet Aluminum Mill Products Corporation. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Alvin leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and quiet strength. He was a steady presence in the lives of his family, and the values he lived by will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Graveside Services will be held 15 Oct 2025 at 2:00 PM at Young Cemetery, McEwen, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arthur Alvin Tate, of Milan, Tennessee, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 86.
