Mr. Self spent his formative years growing up in the natural beauty of Tennessee and developed a deep love for the outdoors.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"image-container w75 storyimage_centeralign\">\n<div class=\"imageDiv\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Later in his adult years, he would meet and marry his wife Mrs. Gladys Joyce Martin and the two would be joined in matrimony on August 14, 1993. The two would forever intertwine their hearts and lives and remain married until his passing. He loved the outdoors and choose the Logging Industry for his occupation as well as lawn care mowing for various people throughout his life. In his leisure time, he could often be found hunting, fishing and growing vegetables in his garden. He also possessed an artistic flair for painting often painting beautiful scenes he saw in nature from various animals to landscapes.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those who knew him best will remember him as a strong, passionate, loving husband, sibling and friend. Mr. William Earl Self passed from this life on July 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by family making his stay on this earth some 69 years, 1 month and 29 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years Gladys Joyce Martin Self of Hohenwald, children Brent Self and wife Sarah of Apache Junction, Arizona, Brian Self and wife Katrina of Emon Valley, Pennsylvania, Christy Butler and husband William of Lawrenceburg, and Whitney Worden of Hagerstown, Missouri; siblings Wendal Self and wife Maryln of Lawrenceburg, Wand Tolle and husband Steve of Waynesboro, Randy Self and wife Tina of Wayne County, Rita Long and husband Scott of Lawrenceburg, Rhonda Long and husband Tony of Waynesboro, Stephine Self and husband A.J. of Lawrenceburg, and Anita Rubbert and husband Donald of Summertown, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as many other family, friends and dear loved ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Winford Self and Ralph Self; sister Catherine Self.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Graveside Services were held Saturday August 2, 2025 at the Highland Methodist Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, with Steve Seaton officiating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation is honored to serve the family.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>William Earl &#8220;Billy&#8221; Self was born in Lawrenceburg, on June 1, 1956 to his parents the late Mr. Terrell Self and Mrs. Adell Blackwood Stephenson.
