{"id":13891,"date":"2025-07-12T07:51:51","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T11:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=13891"},"modified":"2025-07-12T12:15:30","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T16:15:30","slug":"dabbs-janice-marie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/dabbs-janice-marie\/","title":{"rendered":"Dabbs, Janice Marie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Janice Marie Tate Dabbs passed away at her home in Linden, Tennessee on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0Janice was born on October 10, 1953 at the Boyce Clinic in Hohenwald, TN\u00a0 to the late James Edward and Elsie (Morgan) Tate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She grew up in Pineview before moving to Linden to attend Perry County High School and graduated in the Class of 1971.\u00a0 She worked many jobs before retiring due to health issues. Janice and her husband were members of Linden First United Methodist Church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She loved attending all her grandchildren&#8217;s events, and all University of Tennessee Vols sports (their home includes a decked out orange and white bathroom including checkerboard tile on the floor!) Janice also loved Perry County basketball and listened to Jay Hinson&#8217;s broadcasts whenever she couldn&#8217;t attend.\u00a0 Jewelry and Reading were two of her passions as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Janice is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Dr. Larry W. Dabbs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Children: Jana Beth Conway, Kara Leigh Turnbow (James), and Cody Duncan (Leia).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A special niece whom she considered her &#8220;first baby&#8221; Tracy Broadway.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Grandchildren: Jansen Henderson (Dylan), Kason Turnbow, Abby Beth Conway, Anna Bess Conway, and Lynnleigh Tayte Duncan.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bonus Children: Lezlee Dabbs Beard-Gower (Scott), Dr. Lincoln W. Dabbs (Tiffany), and Lantz W. Dabbs (Stacy).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bonus Grandchildren: Neison W. Dabbs (Kirstan), Avery Dabbs, Hudson Beard, Emery Dabbs, Cooper Dabbs, Macartney Dabbs, Knox Dabbs, and Zachary Dabbs.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bonus Great-Grandchildren: Jayce Allen and Reyna Allen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Siblings: Betty Edwards, Eva Qualls (Bobby), and Joyce Carter<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to her parents, she was preceded\u00a0in death by a brother-in-law, Preston Carter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">If anyone would like to send a memorial in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude&#8217;s Children&#8217;s Hospital or Autism Speaks Foundation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Young Funeral Home in Linden, TN.
