Born in Lyles, Tennessee, on April 29, 1938, Jerry was the beloved son of the late George Mitchell and Annie Ruth Clayborne Jenkins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A man of deep faith and steadfast love for his family, Jerry was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 60 years, Thelma Christine Stinson Jenkins; children, Sherry Jenkins Cochran, Stacey Jenkins, and Odie Michael Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Allen Jenkins; and siblings, Kay Bishop, Danny Jenkins, and Jimmy Jenkins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his son, Ricky (Dianne) Jenkins; sisters, Margie Clark and Brenda Potts; daughters-in-law, Cindy, Tonya, and Brenda; son-in-law, Gary Dean Cochran; grandchildren, Alison, Matt, Jessica, Kira, Johnathan, Jeremy, Justin, Jason, and Tori; and 13 great-grandchildren. Jerry also leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him dearly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Jerry never missed a church service as long as he was able to attend, and his unwavering faith was a guiding force in his life. He was a fiercely loyal husband, lovingly caring for Thelma throughout her illness, always attentive to her every need. He found joy in the simple pleasures: reading western novels, watching Winston Cup racing\u2014especially cheering on Darrell Waltrip\u2014and sitting on his porch, waving to neighbors as they passed by.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Jerry Jenkins will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His legacy lives on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 24 April 2025 from 10:00 AM &#8211; 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. &#8211; Hickman County with Funeral Services to begin at 2:00 PM.\u00a0 Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery, Lyles, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Jenkins family.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary__section__content\">\n<div class=\"event-8658852 location-block event-block \">\n<div class=\"location-block__body location-block__body--flex\">\n<div class=\"location-block__content\">\n<p class=\"location-block__address\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jerry Bowers Jenkins, age 86, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 21, 2025.
