Janis Elaine Rediker, of Centerville, Tennessee, departed this life on January 30, 2025. A devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janis was born in Terrell, Texas to the late John Stewart and Joyce Rumbo Stewart, on September 9, 1954. Her parents provided the foundation of warmth and care that shaped her character. As a mother, Janis was nurturing and patient. She raised her children with love, guiding them with wisdom, faith and a gentle hand celebrating their triumphs, and comforting them in their struggles. Being a mother was her greatest achievement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janis found joy in the simple beauty of nature. Whether planting a spring garden, tending to summer blooms, or harvesting the fruits of her labor in the fall, she saw each season as a gift. Her hands were always busy in the soil, cultivated not just flowers and vegetables but also a life filled with love, deep-rooted faith and dedication to family. She took great pride in creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of home cooked meals.<\/span><\/p>\n

She worked most of her life in education as a teacher\u2019s aide at Centerville Church of Christ Day School but also in the public schools as well. At Centerville Church of Christ, Janis had a devotion to teach Sunday school and continue her nature of looking out for children and adults alike. She always had a warm, drawing nature. Being a deacon\u2019s wife she had a big role to fill was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her faith was the foundation for all she did, and she was a proud and active member of the Centerville Church of Christ. It\u2019s often said, \u201cBehind every great man is a great woman,\u201d and she exemplified this truth every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janis was a proud member of the American Legion Women\u2019s Auxiliary Unit 36. She committed herself to supporting veterans, their families, and her community. She believed in the power of service and camaraderie, spending countless hours volunteering.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her parents Janis was preceded in life\u2019s journey by her loving husband, Wayne Rediker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janis is lovingly remembered by her children, son Ben Rediker, son John Rediker, daughter Laura (Michael) Miller, daughter Valerie Rediker; sister, Elizabeth (Charles) Dotson; sisters-in-laws, Rosalyn (Wayne) Jenkins, Gladys Norris, and Marilyn Lawson; along with nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a great number of nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to family left to remember her with love and gratitude is her church family, who will forever cherish the example of faith, kindness and service she set for all who knew her. Her love was her greatest gift, and her memory will be cherished forever.<\/span><\/div>\n

A Celebration of Life will be held 23 Feb 2025 at 2:00 PM at Centerville Church of Christ, 138 N. Central Ave., Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n
