{"id":13355,"date":"2024-12-30T06:46:28","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T11:46:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=13355"},"modified":"2024-12-30T14:22:56","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T19:22:56","slug":"dyer-billy-ray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/dyer-billy-ray\/","title":{"rendered":"Dyer, Billy Ray"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"tabs__panel__content\">\n<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary__text\">\n<div class=\"obituary edit-container\">\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Billy Ray Dyer, a beloved resident of Centerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Born on November 22, 1937, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Billy Ray was the youngest of 13 children of the late Edgar and Lilly Pruett Dyer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Billy Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Polly Ann McCaleb Dyer. Together, they built a loving family that includes two daughters, Mitzi Dyer Goins of Pinewood and Andrea Dyer Mayberry Carroll of Hurricane Mills. He was a proud grandfather to Brandy (Eric) Nash and Amanda (Kirk) Davidson and a cherished great-grandfather to Hayden and Riley Davidson and Zane and Kaynann Nash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents, Billy Ray was preceded in death by his siblings: Will Pruett, Walter Edward, Mary Pauline, Luther Lawrence, Alice Christine, James Benjamine, Maggie Josephine, Alf Harding, Virginia Nell, Earlie Lorene, Edgar Jr., and Joseph Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">After dedicating 30 years of service, Billy Ray retired from the Ford Glass Plant in 1992. His hard work and loyalty were hallmarks of his life, as were his love for family and community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Billy Ray will be remembered as a kind-hearted and dedicated family man whose legacy will live on through those who loved him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A visitation with the family will be Dec 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM &#8211; 8:00 PM and Dec 31, 2024 from <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">10:00 AM &#8211; 1:00 PM at M<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">cDonald Funeral Home, Inc. &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be 31 Dec 2024 at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">1:00 PM at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. &#8211; Hickman County with burial to follow at Charles L Nickell Memorial Park Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary__section__content\">\n<div class=\"event-8521367 location-block event-block \">\n<div class=\"location-block__body location-block__body--flex\">\n<div class=\"location-block__content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Billy Ray Dyer, a beloved resident of Centerville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.
