Mrs. Queen was born and raised in Morganton, Georgia but had been a resident for the past 8 years in Duck River, Tennessee where she lived with her son. She was member of Morganton Baptist Church most of her life and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and Fairfield Baptist Church, both in Centerville, Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sue, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, played piano and organ in Morganton Baptist Church for many years with the beautiful hymns and musical arrangements for her Lord. She was a retired nurse ministering to the health needs of many and retired from Union General Hospital in Blairsville, Georgia. Billie had a deep love and devotion to God and her family. She found great solace in attending church for worship and praise. Mrs. Queen enjoyed God&#8217;s created nature whether at the beach or in the mountains. Reading and writing poetry were favorite past times for her and each family member was given a poem she had penned for them. Her hands were artful in the making of quilts and other works as a seamstress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Alma Forrester Lindsey; her husband, Paul Queen; sister, Jane Lindsey Pate and many other friends and family members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is survived by her sons; Billy (Michelle) Queen of Duck River, Tennessee and Alan (Becky) Queen of Morganton, Georgia; 5 granddaughters, Myleah (Greg) McGuigan of Duck River, Tennessee, Mollie (Matthew) Chessor of Centerville, Tennessee, Karen (Chris) Rooker of Morganton, Georgia, Megan (Jon) Arnold of Centerville, Tennessee and Julie (Bobby) McDaniel of Morganton, Georgia; 8 great grandchildren, Gracie (Branden) Keiper, Claire McGuigan, Ellie Kate Chessor, Colin Chessor, Landon Arnold, Locklan Arnold, Ruby McDaniel and Joseph McDaniel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Queen was laid to ret in the Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Georgia, on November 10, 2024.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary__section\">\n<div class=\"obituary__section__content\">\n<div class=\"event-8473505 location-block event-block \">\n<div class=\"location-block__body location-block__body--flex\">\n<div class=\"location-block__content\">\n<div class=\"location-block__address\">\n<p class=\"notranslate\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A Visitation with the family will be 17 Nov 2024 from 2:00 &#8211; 3:00 PM at Fairfield Baptist Church, 1863 Hwy 100 E, Centerville, TN 37033.\u00a0 A Memorial Service for Mrs. Queen will begin at 3:00 PM.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The family of Mrs. Sue Queen, of Duck River, Tennessee, has asked that we share the news of her death and upcoming memorial service.
