Born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland, to the late Howard Dail and Virginia Doris Hatton Martin was a man of the land and hard work, and a love for farming that was truly his calling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">After graduation from Mardela Springs High School in 1976, Martin was self-employed for much of his life, Martin was known as a hands-on, skilled worker whose perseverance inspired all who knew him. His work was not just a job but a passion that he carried into every endeavor, whether working his own fields, tending his crops, or driving a log truck through the early morning hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Martin was the beloved husband of Lynn Hatton. They married in November of 1979, sharing a devoted marriage of 45 years. Together they built a life centered on loyalty, laughter, and shared dreams that enriched the lives of those around them. Farming was his life\u2019s calling. In 1976 he turned his dream into a thriving dairy farm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In the last five years, Martin brought his strong work ethic and commitment to Owen\u2019s Oil Company, in Centerville, Tennessee. There, he became not only a valued employee but a respected friend and mentor. His connection to the satisfaction he found in a good day\u2019s work was evident to everyone he met. The team at Owen\u2019s, like his family and friends, will miss his humor, his stories, and his genuine kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his brothers, Alan Hatton and Danny Hatton.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those left to cherish Martin\u2019s memory is wife, Lynn Hatton of Pleasantville, Tennessee, Daughter, Mary Ellen Hatton of Pleasantville, Tennessee, Son, \u201cSpanky\u201d Hatton, of Pleasantville, Tennessee, grandchildren Rebecca Jo Bailey, Lemuel Dail Watson, Jocelin Pernell, Claire Elizabeth Hatton, of Pleasantville, Tennessee and sister, the family\u2019s furry companion, \u201cRIP\u201d, Gina Dail Dryden, of Maryland. Extended family members, Rachel Nash of Centerville, Tennessee, Jack (Angie) Green of Pleasantville, Tennessee, their children, Joseph Martin, Daniel Martin, and Anna Martin and along with countless friends and neighbors who will remember his character, his warmth, and his spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those who knew Martin knew a quiet but profoundly dedicated man. He was loyal to his loved ones, proud of his family, and fulfilled by a life of honest labor. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Services to honor Martin\u2019s life will be held at The Hatton Family Farm on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 1:00P.M.
