{"id":13190,"date":"2024-11-10T17:53:20","date_gmt":"2024-11-10T22:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=13190"},"modified":"2024-11-15T15:04:37","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T20:04:37","slug":"lyell-edith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/lyell-edith\/","title":{"rendered":"Lyell, Edith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Edith Lyell of Hohenwald, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday November 8, 2024, at the age of 85.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was born on February 22, 1939, in Lewis County to Boss and Lois Edith Barber. She married Abner Andrew Lyell on July 7, 1956. Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and a faithful prayer warrior. She loved her family and loved spending time with them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Edith and her husband worked at and retired from Genesco and made many friends throughout their time working there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You could describe Edith and Abner as devoted Christians. Their lives were changed during a revival at Buffalo Valley Methodist Church in the early 1970\u2019s. They were also among the founding members of Freedom Holy Temple in Hohenwald.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Edith spent her final months as a resident of AHC Natchez Trace in Hohenwald. She was loved and cared deeply for by the staff. While there she became a member of the \u201cGolden Girls\u201d- a distinguished group of ladies who shared many laughs and fun times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, her daughter Lisa Rawdon; her four brothers, Jess, Arthur (Ott), Robert, and Andrew (Snooks); and her sister Martha Elizabeth Breece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Survivors include her sons:\u00a0Timothy (Leslie) Lyell,\u00a0Gregory Lyell,\u00a0Son-in-law,\u00a0 Mike Rawdon;\u00a0Grandchildren:\u00a0Barry (Heather) Rawdon,\u00a0Stephany (Chad) Ashmore,\u00a0Emily (Jonathan) Barnes,\u00a0Stephen (Sarah) Lyell,\u00a0Sarah Conner,\u00a0Cassidy Heil,\u00a0Caleb Lyell,\u00a0Shelby (Jeremy) Landis,\u00a0Emma Barrier.\u00a0\u00a0Great-grandchildren include:\u00a0Madeline and Evelyn Rawdon,\u00a0Mercie Ashmore,\u00a0Everett Barnes,\u00a0Grady, Carson, Jacob, and Emma Lyell,\u00a0Brinley and Corbin Conner,\u00a0Charlie, Hadley, and Hunter Max Heil,\u00a0Jase, Maya, Sunny, and Isaac Landis.\u00a0\u00a0She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with family and friends will be held in the Chapel of Adair Funeral &amp; Cremation Services on Saturday November 16,2024, from 12:00 until time of service of 2:00 pm.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edith Lyell of Hohenwald, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday November 8, 2024, at the age of 85.
