Mary Ann Himes Shackelford, 83, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away peacefully at the family farm in Vienna, Illinois on September 5, 2024, after spending the holiday with her family. She was a loved and respected Mother, Grandmother and recently she became a Great Grandmother. She was so kind and a friend to everyone she met.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mary Ann Himes grew up in Shelbyville, Tennessee and attended Martin Methodist College where she graduated with an associate’s degree. While there, she met the love of her life Don Shackelford from Centerville, Tennessee and married on August 6, 1961. They were married for 59 years. She also met her life-long best friends Martha Loveless and Susan Ivey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mary Ann worked for the Williamson County School System in the Franklin High School Library for over 25 years. She met many friends while working there and enjoyed her job very much.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her favorite past times were sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. She liked to watch movies and work puzzles with her loved ones. Her favorite thing to do was spend time and visit with friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mary Ann loved with her entire heart unconditionally and wholeheartedly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don Andrews Shackelford. Mary Ann is survived by her three children. Phillip Shackelford, Dickson, TN; Lee Ann Fields (Ray), Smyrna, TN and Katie Cherry (Clay) of Dover, TN. She has 7 grandchildren that adored her. Tanner Shackelford (Jessica), Jarrod Shackelford and Sierra Reynolds (Zach), Annsley and Avery Fields, and Katelyn and Charles Cherry. Her newest addition is Great Granddaughter Mary Mae Shackelford. She is also survived by her brother Tommy Himes (Debbie).<\/span><\/div>\n

A Graveside Service will be held 15 Sep 2024 at Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n
