He completed his final passage of life to ascend to the peaceful shores of eternity on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Walter accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was baptized at Walnut Street Church of Christ in Dickson, Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He received his formal education in the Davidson County Public Schools where he attended Head School, Washington Jr. High and Pearl High Schools. He was employed as a supervisor for many years by American Ace Coffee Company of Nashville, Tn. Walter also worked in retail, construction and for Wabash Alliance Inc. of Dickson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Walter was a fun loving, energizing and outgoing kind of guy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sporting events, family gatherings and good conversation. Walter never met a stranger wherever he went he made friends, whether in the grocery store, doctor\u2019s office or just out on the town. He could always encourage and make people feel special. He will be truly missed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Collins, Sr., and Sarah (John) Elliott, sister, Mary Collins, sons, Brandon Beasley, Watler Lewis and grandson, Dallas Cato.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Those left to cherish his sweet memories are his loving sons, Shawn (La Angelea) Collins, Antron and Christopher Lewis, Nashville, Tn., daughters, Shanette Smith and Monisha Holman, Nashville, Tn. brothers, Clifford (Minnie) Jackson, Mankato, Minnesota, Ricky (Andrea) Collins, Nashville, Tn., Darrell Elliott, Dallas, Texas, sisters, Iva Garrett, Brenda Elliott and Linda Walker, Nashville, Tn., grandchildren, Kejuana, Larnell, Erionna, KeiMichael, Kennedy, Azalia, Emmanuel, Josiah, David, Daniel, Jazelle, SaMiracle, Brandon, Deshaun, Cameron, La\u2019Shanda, Hope, Faith, Sharkara , a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, devoted friends, Wilma and the Springer Family, W.D. and Marilyn Washington, friends and neighbors.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 16 Aug 2024 from 1:00 &#8211; 5:00 PM and 17 Aug 2024 from 8:30 AM &#8211; 12:00 PM at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, Inc, Nashville, TN.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held 17 Aug 2024 at 12:00 PM at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, Inc, Nashville, TN.\u00a0 Burial will be at Bordeaux 7th Day Adventist Cemetery, Nashville, TN.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The family of Walter Collins, Jr., formerly of the Wrigley Community in Hickman County, Tennessee, requested we share the news of his passing.
