Known for his strength of character, unwavering loyalty, and commitment to both family and community, James leaves behind a legacy of service, fellowship, and love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Born in Van Buren County, Tennessee on September 28, 1938, to the late Ollie Elnora and Elbert Eston Templeton. James answered the call to service early in life, serving honorably in the United States Air Force, where he forged friendships and values that would guide him throughout his life. During his military service, James became an active and devoted member of the Masonic Lodge in 1971, finding brotherhood and purpose among his fellow Masons and taking pride in the lodge\u2019s work in supporting others. James was a past grand lecturer for the most worshipful grand lodge of Masons in Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">James was blessed with a loving family. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Sue Templeton, with whom he shared many happy years. After her passing, he was fortunate to find love again and remarried, Betty Templeton, finding joy in a renewed partnership. Together, they built a life filled with family gatherings, laughter, and cherished memories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his three children: Mike Templeton of Columbia, Tennessee, Randy (Molly) Templeton of Decatur, Alabama, Cindy Morgan (Mike Bair) of Columbia, Tennessee; five grandchildren: David Templeton, Heather Templeton, Wendy (Matt) Rohweder, Eston (Brittney) Templeton, Stephen (Sarah) Morgan and a host of great-grandchildren, and extended family members, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness into his life. He treasured each member of his growing family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. James Franklin Templeton will be remembered for his devotion, not only to his family but to his country, his Masonic brothers, and the community he served. His family was his greatest joy, and he will be remembered for the wisdom, humor, and kindness he shared with each of them.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 10 Nov 2024 from 4:00 &#8211; 8:00 PM and 11 Nov 2024 from 11:00 AM &#8211; 12:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 A Masonic Service will be 10 Nov 2024 at 5:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held 11 Nov 2024 at 12:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville, Tennessee is honored to be serving the Templeton Family during this difficult time.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. James Franklin Templeton, of Fairview, Tennessee, a proud US Air Force veteran, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at the age of 86.
