She was born July 19, 1937, in Hohenwald, TN to the late Bill Turnbow and Esther Beatty Turnbow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She shared over 65 beautiful years with her beloved husband, Bobby Kirk, whom she married on February 20, 1959. Bettye had a zest for life and loved to &#8220;go&#8221;-whether it was shopping, visiting Disney World, or spending time at the beach and the mountains. Known for her elegance, she was always dressed to a &#8220;T&#8221; and brought warmth and style wherever she went. Her family was her greatest joy, and she fought courageously over the last year and a half to be with them as long as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mrs. Kirk is survived by her husband Bobby Kirk of Nolensville, TN, daughter Kimberly (Sharon) Kirk of Albertville, AL, daughter Pam (Gary) Hyde of Lawrenceburg, TN, son Tim (Carla) Kirk of Killen AL, daughter Tammye Kirk Lawler of Nolensville, TN, brother Jay Turnbow of Town Creek, AL, 8 grandchildren Ashleigh Richmond, Kelsey Hardison, Noelle Lawler, Kelli Kemp, Kirk Kemp, Christian Kirk, Madison Kirk &amp; Aliah Lawler, 5 great-grandchildren Aubrey, DJ, Weston, Ayla &amp; Ace, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces\/nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 27 in the Swiss Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kirk family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to one of the following organizations in Mrs. Kirk&#8217;s memory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">American Heart Association at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart.org\/en\/get-involved\/ways-to-give?form=FUNELYZXFBW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.heart.org\/en\/get-involved\/ways-to-give?form=FUNELYZXFBW<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Alive Hospice Nashville at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alivehospice.org\/get-involved\/give\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.alivehospice.org\/get-involved\/give\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bettye Sue Kirk of Nolensville, TN, formerly of Hohenwald, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 24, 2024, at the age of 87.
