{"id":12813,"date":"2024-07-08T18:24:39","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T22:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=12813"},"modified":"2024-07-11T08:01:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T12:01:24","slug":"duncan-terry-stephen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/duncan-terry-stephen\/","title":{"rendered":"Duncan, Terry Stephen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Terry Stephen Duncan, affectionately known to many as &#8220;Gomer&#8221; despite his distaste for the nickname, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Hohenwald, Tennessee, on July 1, 2024, at the age of 75, he was born on March 16, 1949, to the late James and Hazel Chessor Duncan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Terry, a dedicated employee, devoted many years of service to Genesco before dedicating his days as the groundskeeper of Lewis County Ball Park. A man of few words, Terry was most content when taking his walks through town, often marked by the distinct sound of his whistling and the ever-present toothpick at the corner of his mouth. Terry&#8217;s leisure time was usually spent in the thrall of NASCAR races or on the greens playing golf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Terry is survived by his sister, Shirley Duncan, nephew James Duncan, and niece Christin Duncan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A graveside service for Terry will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, beginning at 11:00 AM at Lewis County Memorial Gardens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Duncan family.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Terry Stephen Duncan, affectionately known to many as &#8220;Gomer&#8221; despite his distaste for the nickname, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Hohenwald, Tennessee, on July 1, 2024, at the age of 75, he was born on March 16, 1949, to the late James and Hazel Chessor Duncan.
