{"id":12639,"date":"2024-05-06T06:23:23","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T10:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=12639"},"modified":"2024-05-06T06:23:23","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T10:23:23","slug":"fly-john-douglas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/fly-john-douglas\/","title":{"rendered":"Fly, John Douglas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary\">\n<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary__text\">\n<div class=\"obituary edit-container\">\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">John Douglas Fly was born on November 18, 1949 in Centerville, Tennessee and passed away at his home in Centerville on April 5, 2024 with his family by his side.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was the son of the late Howard and Henrietta McGill Fly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was also preceded in death by his siblings Tom Fly and Norma Fly Aymett.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Brenda Stallings Fly. Daughters Angie (Jeff) Davis of Hohenwald, and Becky (James) Malugin of Lyles. Son Will Fly of Bon Aqua. Sister Marian (Greg) Zoller of Bartlett, Tennessee. Brother in Law Allen Aymett. Grandchildren Blake Warren, Cole Davis, Jayden Malugin, and Cain Davis. Great grandchildren Ivy Warren and Sawyer Warren. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">John was a devoted member of the Fairfield Church of Christ. He graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Agriculture and devoted his working years to farming his family farm in Little Lot. During his retirement years he enjoyed fishing and playing cards at the Senior Center. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all of his friends, and family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 6 April 2024 from 4:00 &#8211; 8:00 PM and 7 April 2024 from 12:00 &#8211; 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Graveside Services will be 7 April 2024 at 2:30PM at Little Lot Cemetery, Lyles, TN.\u00a0 Mike Kelley will officiate the graveside service.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Douglas Fly was born on November 18, 1949 in Centerville, Tennessee and passed away at his home in Centerville on April 5, 2024 with his family by his side.
