{"id":12504,"date":"2024-03-20T18:14:54","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T22:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=12504"},"modified":"2024-03-22T05:54:52","modified_gmt":"2024-03-22T09:54:52","slug":"chandler-joyce-faye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/chandler-joyce-faye\/","title":{"rendered":"Chandler, Joyce Faye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Joyce Faye Chandler passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in her home in Hohenwald, Tennessee with her loving husband by her side after a meaningful life filled with love, laughter and purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Forever steadfast to what mattered to her most, she spent her final moments surrounded by her family. Faye was born on April 15, 1936, in Hohenwald, Tennessee to Tommy and Bitha Simmons Bullion. She stole Paul Chandler\u2019s heart when he saw her in a polka-dot dress while in grade school. Their love story lasted over 68 years of marriage with the help of Paul\u2019s motto to Faye being \u201cIf it suits you, it suits me.\u201d Faye was always by his side whether it be stationed abroad at a Navy base in Italy, building houses, running the grocery, furniture, and antique stores, or traveling to all 50 states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Bitha Bullion, her sister, Willie Anne Anderson, and brother Vernon \u201cBuddy\u201d Bullion. She is survived by her husband, Paul Chandler, who was the most devoted, loving, compassionate and patient caregiver during the last few years of her life, and her two children: Cindy Morrow (Rick) and Seth Chandler (Ashley). One of her most beloved roles was as a grandmother and great-grandmother known as \u201cGranny Faye\u201d to her 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Grandchildren: Miranda Kelley (Aaron), Cassidy Spicer (Bryan), Erica Taylor (Ryan), Chase Chandler (Beth), Madison Chandler, Denver Chandler, and Noah Chandler (Kristen). Great-grandchildren: Reagan Kelley, Walker Kelley, Crews Kelley, Jack Spicer, Ella Spicer, Hudson Spicer, Darby Taylor, Chandler Taylor, Finley Taylor, Kate Chandler, Owen Chandler, Corbin Chandler, Elle Chandler, and Isla Faye Chandler.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation will take place at Lomax Church of Christ, 320 Darbytown Road, Hohenwald, Tennessee on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m. with the service following at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lomax Cemetery,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the nurses and healthcare providers and all the many friends that provided food and support during Faye\u2019s illness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers, because of Faye\u2019s love for children, donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital or Finley\u2019s Fund at Vanderbilt Hospital which helps families that have children in Vanderbilt\u2019s Monroe Carell Jr. Children\u2019s Hospital at the following link:\u00a0<a title=\"Click to open in a new window or tab\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/C19CM_clss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/C19CM_clss<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Chandler family.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joyce Faye Chandler passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in her home in Hohenwald, Tennessee with her loving husband by her side after a meaningful life filled with love, laughter and purpose.
