John Edward Hudspeth, 70, was born in Centerville, Tennessee, on November 2, 1953, and passed away at his home on March 15, 2024. His parents were the late James Lester Hudspeth, Sr., and Lura Alvena Choate Hudspeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

John had a love for music and is best known for his steady rhythm of playing drums, singing, and writing songs. John\u2019s mother bought his first set of drums from Woolworths for $99 in 1968 when he was 15. Locally, he is well-known for playing with Chester Quick and High Mileage Outlaws. He sang and played all types of music from gospel (at 6 years old) with The Choate Family and the Missionaries to southern rock. He was the first drummer for the Grinders Switch Hour and the first drummer for Hope Church.<\/span><\/p>\n

John leaves the love of his life, his wife of over 40 years, Lugene Hutchison Hudspeth; his stepdaughter, Kristy Bradford; his daughter, Charity J. Hudspeth; his grandchildren, Domanick (Brianna) J. Moss, Kira N. Moss, and Jay Moss; his brother, James \u201cJim\u201d (Chris) Lester Hudspeth, Jr., and his sister, Joyce Hudspeth Booker, and many nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n

John served his country in the Army National Guard for nine years. He is a member of the American Legion, Post 36, and a Mason with Lodge 618.<\/span><\/p>\n

John loved the Lord and served Him anyway there was a calling. John\u2019s friends and family will miss his bear hugs, his genuine love and empathy for everyone he encountered.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Celebration of Life will be held 6 Apr 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at The Stables Event Space, 1726 Highway 100, Centerville, TN 37033\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
