{"id":12434,"date":"2024-03-06T10:31:27","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T15:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=12434"},"modified":"2024-03-06T10:31:27","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T15:31:27","slug":"roberts-carl-leo-sr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/roberts-carl-leo-sr\/","title":{"rendered":"Roberts, Carl Leo Sr"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary\">\n<div class=\"obit-and-service__obituary__text\">\n<div class=\"obituary edit-container\">\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carl Leo Roberts, Sr. was born in Hendersonville, TN to the late Delbert Lee and Mary Elizabeth Jernigan Roberts on July 05, 1936, and entered eternal rest in Murfreesboro, TN on March 1, 2024, at the age of 87 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by first wife Dorris Joan Roberts, wife Barbara Gaudrea Roberts, and son Terry Randall Bates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Roberts is survived by sons James Michael Roberts, Steve Edward (Lisa) Roberts, Carl Leo (Loretta) Roberts, Jr., daughter Jonie (Randell) Scott, stepchildren Kathy (Robert) Black, Mary (Chris) West, Liz (Kevin) Smith, Eugene (Lizzie) Vogt, John Robert (Heidi) Vogt, Kevin (Olga) Vogt, grandchildren Whitney, Steven, Carley, James Carl, Jeremy, Justin, Collin, Michael, Christian, Meghan, Jessica and great grandchildren McKinnly, Keller, Brensley, Stratton, many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, sisters Sue Johnson and Ester Acker along with a host of other family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Roberts proudly served our Country in the United States Air Force with a career that spanned several decades and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergent. He worked in wildlife preservation as a taxidermist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mr. Roberts will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in the memory of Mr. Roberts to NRA, TWRA, or charity of your choice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Visitation with the family will be 12 Mar 2024 from 10:00 AM &#8211; 12:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held 12 Mar 2024 at 12:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home &#8211; Hickman County with burial to follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Nashville, TN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"obituary-text edit\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Roberts Family.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carl Leo Roberts, Sr. was born in Hendersonville, TN to the late Delbert Lee and Mary Elizabeth Jernigan Roberts on July 05, 1936, and entered eternal rest in Murfreesboro, TN on March 1, 2024, at the age of 87 years.
