He was a native of Lawrenceburg, a contractor, and of the Baptist faith. Derrick loved taking care of his family, playing baseball, and fishing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Heatherly; his grandmother, Cathye Phillips; step-grandfather, Harold Mobbs; and grandfather, Grady Newton, Sr.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived by his mother, Christy Mobbs (Terry) of Summertown; his father, Grady Newton, Jr. of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Tate Newton and Tess Newton, both of Loretto; one sister, Haley Wright (Seth) of Summertown; step-brother, Chris Mobbs (Mary Claire) of Lawrenceburg; grandmother, Reva Heatherly of Summertown; and grandfather, Henry Phillips of Lawrenceburg; many extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Funeral services were conducted at Neal Funeral Home Saturday, December 16, 2023, with Tony Gordy officiating.
