Jerry Lee Bates of Bon Aqua, Tennessee passed away peacefully in Portland, Tennessee on July 13, 2023. Jerry was born in the Dean Switch community of Centerville, Tennessee to the late Marshall T. Bates and Ruth Mai Bates on January 9, 1945.<\/p>\n

In addition to his parents, Jerry is predeceased in death by his brother, James Bates, sister, Ruby Nell Jenkins, and daughter, Cindy Bates.<\/p>\n

Jerry served the Army National Guard for nine years then worked in Manufacturing as a machine operator for the remainder of his career. Jerry loved to go dancing with his gal by his side, Mrs. Mary Groves.<\/p>\n

Those left to cherish his memory are his companion Mrs. Mary Groves of Portland, Tennessee, sister, Pat Springer of Coble, Tennessee; daughter, Tina Bates of Duck River, Tennessee; and sister, JoAnn Pruett of Nunnelly, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Visitation with the family will be 20 July 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be 21 July 2023 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County with burial to follow at Wade-Peeler Cemetery, Centerville, TN.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
