Gladys Lee Clayborn Quinn, age 95, of Centerville, Tennessee passed away on June 4, 2023 in<\/span>
\nFranklin, Tennessee. Gladys was born to the late Stanwood Clayborn & Mary Simmons Clayborn of the<\/span>
\nPretty Creek Community in Pinewood, Tennessee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gladys attended the Pretty Creek School and later married Forrest Patrick Stewart in Oakland, California<\/span>
\nduring WWII. Later divorced, and re-married Mr. Burr Gates Quinn in Oakland, California. Gladys worked for the Union Station Train Station in Nashville, Tennessee serving the soldiers coming home from the war.<\/span><\/p>\n

They were called the Troop Trains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gladys later retired from Stouffer\u2019s Top of the Mart in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Franklin, Tennessee to live with her daughter Michaele and son-in-law Art Thorsby. She resided on \u201cThe Hill\u201d making memories with family and friends for 20 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to her parents Gladys is preceded in death by 8 of her brothers and sisters, Vilda Clayborn, Walter Clayborn, JC Clayborn, Wesley Clayborn, Dillard Clayborn, Lillie Ferguson, Earl Clayborn, Minnie Lou Clayborn, her daughter Mary Beddingfield, her son Forrest Patrick Stewart Jr., niece Phyllis Koop, and niece Beth Ann Clayborn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gladys leaves behind two sisters Mary Ellen Humphrey, and Doris Mae Wages (Harvey), Daughter Michaele Phyliss Thorsby (Art), son Mitchell Lee Clayborn. Grandchildren include, Heather Lee Thorsby (Jennifer), Benjamin Heinz Thorsby (Kimberly Kaye) & Mary Elizabeth Thorsby. Great Grandchildren are Benjamin Max Thorsby, Hadley Kaye Thorsby, Lillian Lee Clayborn, Amelia Grey Clayborn, Brendyn Zackary Sythoff, Nephews, James Ronald Clayborn, Gerald Anthony Humphreys, David Roger Humphreys III, Ronald Calvin Humphreys, Trey Wages, Audra Wages-Arnold, Toni Michelle Humphreys and Tabitha Humphreys.<\/span><\/p>\n

Visitation with the family will be 8 June 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Thompson Station United Methodist Church, 1517 Thompson’s Station Road, Thompson’s Station, TN with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 AM.\u00a0 Graveside Services will begin at 3:00 PM\u00a0 at Petty Cemetery, Nunnelly, TN.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
