{"id":11418,"date":"2023-05-01T08:42:02","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T12:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=11418"},"modified":"2023-05-01T08:42:02","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T12:42:02","slug":"marrs-marie-qualls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/marrs-marie-qualls\/","title":{"rendered":"Marrs, Marie Qualls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ms. Marie Qualls Marrs, 89,\u00a0of Kingston Tennessee, formerly of Linden, entered eternal rest\u00a0on Saturday April 22, 2023 at her residence.<\/p>\n<p>Marie was born in\u00a0Perry County to the late James\u00a0Franklin and Willie Mae Barham\u00a0Qualls.\u00a0 In 1953, Marie met Elgie William\u00a0Marrs in Steele, Missiouri.\u00a0\u00a0They were married on February\u00a011, 1954 in Pemiscot County,\u00a0Missiouri. Together they shared\u00a0fifty-four years of marriage.\u00a0\u00a0Their union produced five children,\u00a0six grandchildren, nine\u00a0great-grandchildren and six\u00a0great-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Marie enjoyed her life as a\u00a0devoted wife and mother. She\u00a0spent her time caring for her\u00a0family and enjoying her hobbies,\u00a0gardening, reading, sewing, crocheting,\u00a0and being involved in\u00a0her grandchildren\u2019s adventures.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents she\u00a0is also preceded in death by her\u00a0husband Elgie Marrs, a son Edwin\u00a0Marrs, sisters Mary, Emma\u00a0Nell, Minnie and Fanny and a\u00a0brother Roy Qualls.<\/p>\n<p>Remaining to cherish her\u00a0memory are her children Branon\u00a0Marrs, Bonnie Curtis and\u00a0Sharla Bowman all of Hohenwald,\u00a0and Rose (Emad) Alkishawi\u00a0of Kingston, daughter-in-law,\u00a0Martha Marrs of Tuscumbia, Alabama,\u00a0six grandchildren Kimberly\u00a0O\u2019Guin, Adam (Jennifer)\u00a0Alkishawi, Kristina (Shannon)\u00a0White, Christopher Shelton,\u00a0Shayna (Kameron) Whitehead,\u00a0and Jakki Bowman, nine\u00a0great-grandchildren,\u00a0 CJ O\u2019Guin,\u00a0Mikaela (Aron) Prieur, Kaisha\u00a0(Selena) O\u2019Guin, Todd White,\u00a0Luke White, Aiden Alkishawi,\u00a0Ava Carol Alkishawi, Ashley\u00a0Forrester and Hailey Parchment,\u00a0six great-great-grandchildren,\u00a0Brixyn, Aviana and Bremaria\u00a0Prieur, Kane Forrester, Piper Atkinson\u00a0and Aspyn O\u2019Guin and a\u00a0host of other loving family members\u00a0and many friends.<\/p>\n<p>A Funeral Service was held\u00a0Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Young\u00a0Funeral Home in Linden, Tennessee.\u00a0 Interment followed in\u00a0Beech Grove Cemetery, Pleasantville, TN.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ms. Marie Qualls Marrs, 89,\u00a0of Kingston Tennessee, formerly of Linden, entered eternal rest\u00a0on Saturday April 22, 2023 at her residence.
