{"id":11139,"date":"2023-02-22T15:11:36","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T20:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/?p=11139"},"modified":"2023-02-25T10:04:28","modified_gmt":"2023-02-25T15:04:28","slug":"schumaker-carolyn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/lewis\/schumaker-carolyn\/","title":{"rendered":"Schumaker, Carolyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carolyn Schumaker, 82, of Dundas, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Clay Co Hospital, Flora, IL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carolyn was born on February 25, 1940, in Jasper Co., IL to Hartley Leander and Vivian &#8220;Peg&#8221; (Hammond) Foster. She married Clarence &#8220;Doc&#8221; Drake, he survives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carolyn had a strong Christian faith and was an excellent baker. Her love of baking was passed along to her children and grandchildren who hold the memories of her teaching them close to their heart. She combined her passions for faith and baking by cooking thousands of meals and delicious pies through her many years of working in the Christian ministry. Carolyn also enjoyed listening to Gospel music and playing dominoes with friends and family. She will be laid to rest in Tennessee, her true earthly home, on her 83rd birthday. However, we know that she will be celebrating this birthday on the Streets of Gold of her eternal home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Carolyn Schumaker is survived by husband, Clarence Drake of Willow Hill; son, Adam Schumaker of Hohenwald, TN; daughter, Jodi Shaw and husband Doug of Memphis, TN; daughter, Stormy Schumaker of Indianapolis, IN; son, Isaac Capps of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Madison Shaw, Julia Shaw, Eva Shaw, and Aiya Capps; Stepchildren, Tim Drake, Tammy Neidigh, and Todd Drake; sister, Gloria (Howard) Atkison; and several nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was preceded in death by parents; infant siblings, Gary Lee and Peggy Jo; sisters, Laurita LaCoax and Niki Cathcart; and granddaughter, Vivian Shaw.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Freedom Holy Temple (1463 Buffalo Rd, Hohenwald, TN 38462).
