He was born on July 12, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas V.J. Brennan and Helen M. Brennan, who preceded him in death.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dailey, and a brother, Lee James Brennan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is survived <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">by three children, Helen Virginia Oushana, John Sullivan Brennan, Jr., and Conor James Brennan, as well as by the following grandchildren: Mia Melchior, Olive Oushana, Cash Oushana, and Colt Oushana; Reilly Brennan, Reagan Brennan, Calvin Brennan, and Rowan Brennan. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth E. Duffy, his sister Virginia M. Brennan, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">and his twin brother, Christopher Luke Brennan (John\u2019s elder by two minutes). John leaves behind his faithful dogs (Cuey, Ace, and Boru), two horses, and two cats (who have asked to remain anonymous).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">John was a National Merit Scholar at St. Ignatius College Preparatory School in Chicago. He graduated with Honors from Northwestern University in 1974, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Greek and Latin. He graduated summa cum laude with an M.B.A. from the Lake Forest University Graduate School of Management. He was employed by Levi Strauss and Company for many years, and more recently, by Nashville State Community College (where he was an adjunct professor), Lowe\u2019s, Fred\u2019s, and Tractor Supply. After retirement, he gave as his vocation \u201cnemophilist.\u201d (You\u2019ll have to look that up.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He was active in the Hickman Country Humane Society, the Clay Harris Theatre, the Lion\u2019s Club, the Garden Club (where he served as Senior Vice-President), and the Hickman County Democratic Party. John was a good neighbor, a devoted friend, father, and grandfather, a brilliant thinker, an avid reader, an animal lover, and a true child of nature.
