She was born to Auburn Brooks and Elaine Cameron Brooks in Gadsden, Alabama on November 8, 1950.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Audrey&#8217;s first full time job was for the Gadsden Times where she worked for three years. She worked for American National Bank\/Travel Office for a year, Third National Bank in Nashville, Tennessee and worked for 23 years for the Peoples Bank until she retired. She attended the Beech Hill Church of Christ in Ripley, Mississippi for 30 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Howard King McCarver, Jr. of Ripley, Mississippi, former minister of Hohenwald Church of Christ; two sons, Jonathan McCarver (Kayoko) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jeremiah McCarver (Amanda) of Knoxville; two daughters, Cameron McCarver and Camille McCarver of Ripley; three sisters, Anita Sundy of Castleberry, Alabama, Lois Spraggins (Kenneth) of Gadsden, Alabama, and Sue Brooks of Albertville, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Sharon McCarver; two grandchildren, Elijah and Eva McCarver of Knoxville; and many other relatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Auburn &#8220;Bubba&#8221; Brooks; and two brothers-in-law, Sid McCarver and James Sundy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Service was held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Beech Hill Church of Christ. Committal followed in Beech Hill Cemetery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Officiating were Elijah McCarver, Jeremiah McCarver and King McCarver. Pallbearers were Josh Ward, Harry Ward, Jeff Green, Eddie Joe McMillin, Mitch Ward, Tony Farese, Mike Graves, Michael Dees, and Mark Ormon. Honorary pallbearers were all of the men of Beech Hill Church of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">McBride Funeral Home of Ripley, Mississippi assisted the family with arrangements.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audrey Elaine McCarver passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 71 on August 26, 2022.
